Dear Lewkiss,

We are happy to present you our Lewkin Good Event: Mapo-gu edition! Recently, together with our three beautiful Lewkiss: Audrey, Sia and Soyeon we went on a tour of the Northern Seoul's neighbourhood! We went to Hapjeong and Mangwon-dong to show you around and introduce some of our favourite spots in Seoul!

Let's check it out!

First we went to Hapjeong! Located in Mapo-gu district, Hapjeong is well known for being a transfer hub for busy Korean company workers and students. This is the place where you can board the famous green line number 2 and get to basically any place in Seoul such as bustling Hongdae or fancy Gangnam. Besides the subway, you can find many hidden gems here such as pop-up stores, little boutiques and small cafes. It is also the place where one of our Lewkin Unnies piercing stores is located!

YG Entertainment

Our first location was the YG Entertainment building! As probably most of our Lewkiss know already, YG relocated to Hapjeong not so long ago after residing in Gangnam for many years. This is the place where you could spot Big Bang or Black Pink rushing in and out to match their busy schedule. Don’t miss it when you come to Korea!

Mangwon-dong

Our next destination was Mangwon-dong. It is well known among locals and not so touristy as Hongdae or Sinchon, but it got big recently so nowadays we can spot more foreign visitors here trying not only Korean traditional food, but also some special treats such as ice-cream in marshmallow or green tea doughnuts… We are getting hungry while writing this post omg!

Mangwon Market

As we mentioned above, the biggest attraction of this neighborhood is definitely Mangwon market! You might have heard that fruits and vegetables are insanely expensive in Korea and in general this is true, but mostly if you choose to shop in big chain supermarkets! If you want to save some pennies, but still choose to eat healthy (with occasional Korean barbecue and tteokbokki on the side of course) you should definitely check out local markets. You can find basically everything you need and the vendors are always ready to help, even If they cannot speak English. It might be a little bit intimidating to enter first (everyone looks like they know what they are doing, but you are completely lost) but give it a chance and you will not regret it after you try Korean pear or handmade rice cake. It is totally worth it!

Besides the market, Mangwon-dong has more things to offer. We love to discover little alleys with corner cafes and craft or stationary shops! It is so fun to browse through countless hidden corners, even if you do not want to buy anything. It is definitely worth a visit to just wander around and feel the real Korean vibes here.

Mangwon Hangang Park

Our last stop was Mangwon Hangang Park. We are sure that you probably saw Koreans picnicking by the Han River in the dramas, but mostly they only show one and the same park on the screen. There are plenty of those along the river so you should try to discover them while you are visiting. The one in Mangwon is my personal favourite. You can rent a bike and cycle along the river or just grab some good snacks from the market and come here to picnic. Do not worry about not having any picnic equipment with you. We are in Korea - the most convenient country on this planet, so you can rent everything on spot.

Meet our Lewkiss

Seoyeon

Our Korean beauty Soyeon has been our model for a long time and we are always happy to shoot with her, but it was the first time we did it outside on the streets of Seoul. She instantly clicked with Audrey and Sia despite some minor language obstacles and the girls all had fun while shooting together. We are looking forward to our next shoot together!

Audrey

You might know Audrey from social media or from our photos as well. She is a beautiful and hardworking tall queen living her best life in Korea. Actually, she was our very first guest on the Lewkin Good Looking Event, so it was so special to have her here again. Especially after we found out she will leave Korea soon to pursue her new dream in Abu Dhabi. We will miss her, but we wish her all the best and truly believe that with her great attitude and lovely personality she can succeed everywhere. We hope to see her again!

Ayshea

It was our first time meeting Ayshea, but we instantly clicked. Her bubbly and positive personality just made everyone so comfortable. She turned working into fun in a second and we had a lot of fun shooting with her! We are forever grateful to Audrey for introducing Ayshea to us and we are looking forward to having her at Lewkin in the future as well!
